Progress, Procrastination, and Easter Eggs

Last night, I wrapped up Chapter 28 of A Healing Love. If you’re a postgraduate member on Ream Stories, it’s live and waiting for you.

Now, just a little reminder—A Healing Love on Ream is a work in progress. We’re talking first draft: raw, rough, and gloriously unedited. But you already knew that, didn’t you? And, yep, Chapter 28 fits the bill.

It’s a shorter chapter, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It might not push the narrative forward in a big way, but it sets up a couple of key things for the final chapters. Think of it as planting seeds that will bloom soon—trust me, it’ll be worth it.

Oh, and I managed to sneak in a subtle nod to the wider Westmouthshire Universe. It’s the kind of detail you might not catch until I release the next Lies Series book, but when you do, you’ll get that satisfying aha moment. (I love doing that.)

That said, I’ve got to admit I’m a bit frustrated with how long this chapter took. I stalled for almost a week, and then, once I finally sat down and focused, it came together in just a couple of days. Twelve days after finishing Chapter 27 isn’t bad—technically, I’m still ahead of my two-week-per-chapter pace. But I can’t help thinking I could have finished it earlier if I hadn’t procrastinated so much.

Procrastination, my old nemesis. The internet makes it so easy—just one quick scroll, one harmless click, and suddenly an hour’s gone. If I want to get this book done, I’ll need to stay disciplined. Less “just checking” and more “just writing.”

But hey, Chapter 28 is done, and I’m ready to move forward. Onward to the next one!
