Fake Social Media in eBooks

If you read yesterday’s post, you’ll know that my current goal to do a full read through/edit of the first draft of The Truths We Live. As part of this one thing I’m doing is adding fake tweets and text messages to the manuscript. These will carry through into the eBook and while it will make the eBook file larger to do this, I hope it will add to the experience of reading it.

There’s quite a bit of ‘banter’ between some of the characters on Twitter early on in the book. Here’s one exchange I’ve knocked up using a fake tweet generator on the web.

@ashyboo97:- @melmoorexxx just how big of a #fatcock are we talking about?
@melmoorexxx:- @ashyboo97 you won’t believe it till you #feelit but it makes @freddiefoo95 #tinycock look prepubescent
@ashyboo97:- @melmoorexxx Ooooh I can’t wait I love a #fatcock
@melmoore95:- @ashyboo97 can’t wait either I bet your pussy tastes sooooo sweet

Hopefully, that shows you the sort of this I’m trying to achieve. Obviously, I’m going to have to make sure that each and every one of these fake tweets have an “alt-text” containing the text of the tweet so that screen-readers can pick it up and anyone using them doesn’t miss out. But I’m confident that this will make the finished product look a bit more professional and polished.
