I’ve started another new blog but under my legal name this time. I’ve done this before, blogged under my own name, but in the past I wasn’t really sure why I was doing it.
At the time, I was quite political on this blog in that ‘angry young man’ way of someone who hasn’t seen enough of the world. But now that I’m trying to be less political here as Marc Nobbs, that doesn’t mean I’m any less political on a personal level. In fact, I’d go as far as to say I’m maybe more political now in middle-age than I was when I was younger.
But, and here’s the thing, I’m not an Angry Young Man anymore. I’ve mellowed. I’ve chilled. And I’ve started to see that anger doesn’t get you anywhere, it doesn’t change things and it doesn’t make things better for you.
Anger only makes things worse.
And at a time when we need change, when there is so much “wrong” with that state of the world, what we need is some level-headed analysis and clear thinking rather than anger.
So my new blog isn’t angry. It isn’t grumpy. At least, it’s intended to be. Instead it’s thoughtful. Or it should be.
You can read the first post, where I explain the purpose of the new blog here.
